In August 2026, twenty years after its first performance, the István, the King rock opera will once again be staged in Hegyeshalom. The anniversary production is not only a special cultural event, but also the continuation of a community collaboration that created a lasting experience for the village and the entire region two decades ago.
The 2006 performance was a tremendous success: thousands of spectators arrived in Hegyeshalom, and the production became a defining part of the local cultural life for many years.
An enormous amount of work stands behind this anniversary performance as well. Nearly sixty people are working to bring István, the King back to the stage in a worthy way — performers, organizers, and volunteers who dedicate their own time and energy to create another truly special community experience.
For us, initiatives that bring communities together, connect people, and create value are especially important. That is why we are proud to support the 2026 Hegyeshalom production of István, the King and become a small part of this remarkable event.
